FILEminimizer Pictures compresses image files in order to save users valuable disk space. This helpful program is also useful if users have large image files that they would like to send to someone else via email. By minimizing the size of the files, FILEminimizer Pictures makes it easier for users to store, send, and open what were much larger files. It should be noted that this program does a great job at maintaining the original quality of the pictures.

FILEminimizer Pictures offers a user-friendly experience with its easy-to-use interface. Users simply need to drag and drop the particular file they wish to minimize into the optimization window. The program will then ask you to choose which compression setting you would like or set your own preferences before beginning the optimization process.

FILEminimizer Pictures gives you the option of high or low compression. The high compression option minimizes existing picture files into a very small size, but the trade-off is that the quality is not quite as good as the original image. If users choose the low compression option, then they will be able to maintain the same high quality of the image while still minimizing the file by a significant amount. Testers of this program have discovered that reduced file sizes ranged from 65-80% of the original file size.

FILEminimizer Pictures does include one small negative. For some reason, there are multiple buttons that all perform the same function. While the presence of these extra buttons on the interface is somewhat confounding, this redundancy does not really affect the functionality of the program.

Pros:

  • Interface is pretty simple.
  • File size can be reduced dramatically.
  • Most of the image quality is maintained.

Cons:

  • Interface includes duplicate buttons for the same functions.
